The Master of Genetic Counselor Studies (MGCS) program prepares students for an exciting profession that combines advanced education in human, molecular and medical genetics with skills and experience in counseling.

We offer a carefully structured sequence of courses in science and counseling as well as clinical practicums and supplemental learning opportunities. Students can choose from the standard MGCS track, the Marshfield Clinical track or the MGCS-MPH dual degree.

Genetic Counselors provide guidance and support to patients, helping them interpret genetic test results and understand how inherited diseases and medical conditions may affect them and their families.
