Explore the Curriculum

We offer a carefully structured sequence of courses in science and counseling as well as clinical practicums and supplemental learning opportunities. Students can choose from the standard MGCS track, the Marshfield Clinical track or the MGCS-MPH dual degree.

Why Choose Genetic Counseling?

Genetic Counselors provide guidance and support to patients, helping them interpret genetic test results and understand how inherited diseases and medical conditions may affect them and their families. Genetic counselors also play an important role in medical research and the implementation of precision medicine, genetic health literacy, application of evidence-based care, and health equity.*

Genetic counseling offers endless opportunities for growth and lifelong learning! Our graduates work in many inter-professional settings, including a variety of clinical specialties, research, education, industry, marketing and many other roles across the health care and genetics fields.
